Behind the scenes: Junkyard Meme
Thu 16 Aug 2012Some great photographs have arrived in the office of an AND 2012 Public Realm work in progress.
Entitled Junkyard Meme: Technoviking, this new work by Iraqi-American artist Wafaa Bilal will be displayed from 30 Aug to 02 Sep at All Saint’s Square, off Oxford Road, Manchester.
A head of Promethean proportions, Bilal’s artwork will inflate and deflate according to the amount of chatter it generates on Twitter. Later in August we’ll be publicising a hashtag that will allow you to join in with the experiment.
Here it is again, with a lick of paint:
Wafaa Bilal will speak about the project and his work in general at an artist talk on 02 Sep. Tickets are free but booking is required – full details of the talk and how to book here.
